Ippô, an outstanding member of the third generation Maruyama-Shijô painters. He lived in Osaka where he studied under Mori Tetsuzan (1775-1841), who later adopted him. About 1850, he executed some of the paintings for fusuma, sliding doors, of the imperial palace.
