When he was 23 years old, he went to Kyoto to study paintings in Takeuchi Seiho’s studio. In 1916, he won a prize at the 10th Bunten exhibition. After 1920, he won prizes at the Teiten and Bunten exhibitions. He later showed his work at his own private exhibitions.
